Nordstrom dropping Ivanka's line was a business decision, not a political one - here's simple proof

Yesterday we got this spew from Orange Julius:

Of course, Nordstrom replied that their decision not to buy Ivanka’s line for its spring collection had nothing to do with politics:

"We made this decision based on performance," a Nordstrom spokesperson told NBC News in an emailed statement. "Over the past year, and particularly in the last half of 2016, sales of the brand have steadily declined to the point where it didn't make good business sense for us to continue with the line for now.

So how can we tell for sure that Nordstrom is right?

Let’s just stipulate for the moment that Ivanka’s line hasn’t been ‘steadily declining’ in sales, but has been selling like hot-cakes, flying off the shelves and racks at Nordstrom’s faster than her Chinese seamstresses can sew them together. Backlogs in the logistics system (better call BDO!), rain checks on $1,000 dresses, prices skyrocketing, knock-down drag-out battles over the latest clutch in the aisles of Nordstrom stores nationwide dominate the news cycle.

Dastardly, liberal Nordstrom takes one look at the massive profits they are making and decides to make a political statement by shuttin’ er’ down. Take that, Donnie Boy! We’re pokin’ you in the eye, for sure! HaHa! Wasn’t that fun flushing millions in profits down the drain just to annoy our Dear Leader!!!

That’s pretty much the picture Drumpf’s tweet raises, isn’t it?

So what’s missing? We know that Nordstrom’s informed Crown Princess Ivanka of their decision on January 10, 2017, so if her line was doing so well, well……

Why hasn’t any other retailer (one not known for liberal tendencies) stepped in to scoop up this yuuuuggeely successful clothing line and make those massive profits by selling it themselves?

Why indeed?

Cheers.
