Trump: $8 billion to build my Great, Great wall..... seriously?

So here’s our wanna-be Dear Leader, showing his expertise in construction estimating on MSNBC:

"What we're doing is we have 2,000 miles, right? 2,000 miles long, but it's not 13,000 miles like they have in China," he said, referring to the Great Wall. "And of the 2,000, we don't need 2,000, we need a thousand because we have natural barriers, et cetera, et cetera.

"And I'm taking a price per square foot, you know, and a price per square mile. And it's a very simple calculation," he continued with his explanation. "I'm talking about precasts going up probably 35 to 40 feet in the air. That's high, that's a wall. It'll actually look good. It'll look, you know, as good as a wall is going to look. And it's going to do the trick. But we're going to have big, beautiful doors in the wall and people are gonna come into the country."

I wrote a diary about the cost of this wall when our candidate for Maximum Leader for Life first spewed the idea in August, and I think it covers most of the absurdity of the wall in general, as well as showing the cost of the concrete alone would be over $60 billion. Road construction, labor, cost of land purchases…. we’re talking well over $100 billion total, probably twice that much.

In this latest dribble, tRump gives us a few details:

First, although the border is about 2,000 miles, we only need about 1,000 miles of wall, because we have ‘natural barriers, et cetera, et cetera’.

Ah, yes, Donald, it’s a known fact that illegal immigrants can’t swim across lakes, don’t know how to build boats, and certainly won’t be able to figure out where the Great Great Wall ends and walk around it.

Second, tRump does his figures in ‘a price per square foot’ and ‘a price per square mile’.

Think about that for a moment…. here’s a self-professed ‘expert' in construction, and he’s quoting the price of a linear wall in ‘square feet’. Scary stuff, that.

Third, he’s going up 35 to 40 feet. I guess he assumes that illegal immigrants won’t be able to build (or buy) a ladder that is either 36 or 41 feet high.

This garbage shows why our incipient Illustrious Potentate doesn’t like to talk specifics about how he’s going to do the stuff he spouts about……. he doesn’t have a clue how to do it!

At least we now know the wall is going to look good, and have big beautiful doors. Whew, I was worried that it would be ugly and the doors would be too small.

Cheers.
